What this guide is, who it's for, and how to get the most out of it.

Most software has a help center. Positli has a guide, because building a brand isn't a set of features you learn — it's a process you go through. This is the story of that process, told the way it actually happens: messy at the start, clearer with each step, and different six months in.

Why this exists

Every founder who opens Positli for the first time is somewhere in the middle of the same story. They know their business. They can talk for an hour about their product, their customers, their market. What they can't always do is say, in one clean sentence, what their brand actually stands for — and why a stranger should believe it over the ten other options in the tab next to theirs.

That gap between knowing your business and being able to articulate your brand is where Positli lives. This guide walks through that gap chapter by chapter: how you find out where you really stand, how you build the strategy underneath your brand, how you turn that strategy into things you actually ship, and how you know — with evidence, not vibes — that it worked.

Who this is for

Founder-led companies: where the brand still lives mainly in one person's head and marketing is beginning to spread across a team.
Marketing leads: who inherited undocumented decisions and need an approved source before briefing employees, freelancers, or agencies.
External collaborators: who need each handoff to retain the Direction release behind the work instead of restarting from a loose collection of documents.

Founder tip

You don't need to read this front to back

Each chapter stands on its own. Start with diagnosis if the problem is still unclear, Company Profile if key context is missing, Direction if choices are unresolved, or Brief and Apply if the strategy is approved but execution keeps drifting.

How the guide is organized

The chapters follow the Positli loop: Diagnosis and its Brand Clarity Score provide evidence, then teams set Direction, publish a release, create a release-bound Brief, Apply the work, and Evolve through new evidence. Vale and Brand Knowledge support the loop; Direction remains the product center.

Diagnose

A free diagnosis gives you an honest, unflinching read on where your brand actually stands today — not where you hope it stands.

Direction

Company context and evidence inform a coherent strategic source that a person reviews and publishes.

Brief

Each handoff points to the exact Direction release it follows, so the work starts from approved context rather than a blank page.

Apply

Content, campaigns, and collaboration turn the approved work into things that ship without losing the strategic thread.

Evolve

Business change and performance evidence return to human review before a new Direction release is published.

One honest note before you start

This guide won't tell you your brand is fine if it isn't. Product imagery is shown only when a current repository screenshot is available; otherwise the guide uses an explicit placeholder. Screens that no longer match the current product model are not presented as current evidence.

“You can't fix a brand you haven't honestly looked at first. That's the whole premise of Chapter 1.”

See it for yourself

Everything in this chapter starts with the same free diagnosis — an honest read on where your own brand stands today.
